Hexham Spook Night 2025 – information and timings

Here’s the programme for Saturday, 25th October.

All day – Spooky Shop Windows around the town centre

10am–4pm Halloween Skull Trail (The Old Gaol) Usual charge for entry applies

10am-4pm Lantern Parade Exhibition (Gallery 1, Queen’s Hall) Free

Noon–4pm Skeletons in the Abbey (Hexham Abbey) Free

Noon-5pm Halloween Fayre – craft, witchy, psychic & alternative stalls (Hexham Community Centre) Free entry

1.30pm–4.30pm Facepainting by Hexham Youthy (Forum café) Donation only

2pm-9pm Funfair on Beaumont Street

2pm Night of the Zoopocalypse (PG) – Forum Cinema

2pm–4pm Boo!-kly Stories & Crafts at Hexham Library, including storytelling at 2pm & 3pm – drop-in activities for young families Free

2–5pm Witch’s Bran Tub and Spook Night Raffle (Queen’s Hall foyer) £1 each

2-5pm The Witches’ Garden: pumpkin carving (£3), potion making, facepainting, crafts & games; hot dogs & refreshments (Hexham Community Centre) Free entry

2-5pm Spook Night Slime Making (Debbi’s Doobles, Gilegate) £4

3–5pm Best Dressed Spooky Family Group Competition (Abbey Flags) Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Free to enter

3.30pm Slightly Scary Storytime for ages 3-6 (Cogito Books) Free

4.30pm–5pm Fancy Dress Competitions at the Bandstand – free to enter
The following categories will be judged: Under 6 Years / 6-9 Years / 10-16 Years /Adults and Pumpkin Lantern Competition (to enter any category, please be at the bandstand for 4.30pm)

4.30pm Corpse Bride (PG) 20th Anniversay Ed. – Forum Cinema

5.30 & 6.30pm Dancing by Studio K (Bandstand) Free

7pm Crimson Peak (15) – Forum Cinema
