Here are our edited highlights of what’s happening in Hexham this April. As the weather warms up, the events calendar is getting busier and we’re welcoming more visitors. We’ve got so much on offer ranging from world-class cultural events to entertainment for families over the Easter school holidays.

Hexham Abbey
Open to visitors 10am-4pm daily (service times excepted) Free admission but donations welcome.
Hexham Abbey tours run on Tuesdays at 3pm, Thursdays at 2pm & Saturdays at 11am (£7.50/conc).
Hexham Old Gaol
Reopens 12th April. Open seven days a week through the school holidays with Easter trails included in admission.
Queen’s Hall
Full programme of arts events for adults and children.
This month you can see the Apollo Remastered photo exhibition at the Queen’s Hall. Open 10am-4pm but closed on Sundays. Free entry.
Adventours
Gruesome walking tours of the town centre with Helen, one of Hexham’s town criers.
Project Escape
Choose from four escape rooms – The Lost Tomb, Jailbreak, The Cursed Attic and Sherlocked: The Hexham Heads.
Inspired Pots
Pottery studio offering ceramics painting sessions and Play With Clay.
Wentworth Leisure Centre
Indoor swimming pools plus bowling and soft play.
